Sobair Design was honored to contribute to the interior renovation of the Al Salam Center in Northwest Calgary, a multifunctional facility that serves as a mosque, elementary school, and recreation center. Our involvement began with the redesign of the gym, kitchen, entrance, and the overall spatial layout, enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of these key spaces.
Later in the project, we were entrusted with the design of a new youth room, envisioned as a dynamic, multifunctional space for the community’s younger members. We developed detailed renderings and collaborated with the center’s team to present the design to the board. Our successful pitch secured $5,000 in funding for furniture and lighting, bringing the project to 85% completion. This marks a significant milestone as Sobair Design’s first realized project.
The youth room design embodies a contemporary Arabic style, inspired by traditional Moroccan interiors. It maximizes space efficiency while creating an inviting atmosphere for a range of entertainment and social activities, tailored to the needs of a diverse youth audience.
